S. and its government, has shown a special interest in the Armenian people and the Armenian Question. The undertakings of President W. Wilson, and the boundaries of the future independent Armenia drawn by him in 1920, were the first active steps taken by the U.S. government to solve the Armenian Question. However, from that day on, and during the following decades, successive U. S. governments, dictated by their economic and international political interests, adopted a pro-turkish stand, while maintaining their symphathetic position and verbal support towards the Armenian Question.
