As the existence of miracles, written by reliable sources, is considered a necessary condition for sanctification, the author has brought to the limelight an unpublished story found in manuscript N 532 of the Armenian Matenadaran in Jerusalem, which narrates a miracle. According to the story, the miracle happened in the year 1729, in the presence of Armenians and Greeks, during Easter celebrations, when the candles of the church Surb Harutyun were lit from the candles in the hands of patriarch Grigor Sghtayakir without touching. A large number of Armenian and Greek pilgrims witnessed the incident.
