The number of the refugees increased immensely during the Sarikamish battle. According to a one-day survey conducted on 15 January 1915, between December 1914 and January 1915 some 6909 fled and took refuge from Kars, Gaghzevan, Olti, Ardahan and Sarikamish. In the next months the flood of Western Armenian refugees became massive. According to lists prepared on 1 October 1915, there were 22,815 Western Armenians in the Province. The number had jumped up to 32,000 in lists prepared on 3 January 1916. All in all, during 1914 and 1917 over 95,000 refugees fled to the Province of Alexandropole.Առաջին աշխարհամարտը եւ Ալեքսանդրապոլի գաւառ հաստատուած գաղթականութեան թուաքանակըAnimation
