Aprahamian categorizes such literary productions in two groups: a) those which relate Armenian issues in various forms, b) those which completely bypass Armenian issues. In this framework the author highlights the literary works of the American-Armenian writer Peter Sourian, whose first novel, Miri, printed in 1957, has lately been translated into Armenian. Aprahamian discusses how Sourian reconciled the above-mentioned two tracks and developed an identity discourse by projecting the identity crisis on non-Armenian characters in his novel, Miri.Ինքնութեան յաղթահարման բարդոյթը Փիթըր Սուրեանի «Միրի» վէպում
