The papers highlight the latest four novels of the author, namely The Life and Death of the Leader, The River of Time, The Free Armenian, and Poghos-Petros. In both of the novels The Life and Death of the Leader and The Free Armenian the stories are woven around the image of the same hero, who appears in different situations during the period of independence. The other two novels highlight handpicked episodes of Armenian history, which become the background upon which the novelist raises a number of critical current issues which have to do with the Armenian Genocide, the survival of the Armenian nation and the prospects of Europe's religious identity and the shifts in its value system.
