Historians' scripts about battles, wars and various conflicts often refer to the use of military equipment. At the same time, there are a lot of images with military themes in Armenian miniatures from different centuries, in which we can see a wealth of hardware of varied shapes. Each item of hardware had its own name but together they were usually referred to as "փող- p'ogh" and "պատերազմական փող - paterazmakan p'ogh". We have been able to conclude: 1) "paterazmakan p'ogh (military wind instrument)" is not only the name of an item of hardware but it also has a collective meaning, which includes a variety of at least 10 different items. 2) The name "p'ogh (wind instrument)" is usually an abbreviated from of the same name "paterazmakan p'ogh (military wind instrument)". 3) The name p'ogh (wind instrument)" is also an abbreviated name of various wind instruments. 4) In some works, the name "p'ogh" is related to the "shepherd's flute". which is the case even today. During the period preceding the Armenian Genocide in Van, Sasun. Taron and other provinces, the "shepherd's flute" was in use, and it kept us ancient name "p'ogh".Հին հայ մատենագրութեան «փող» եւ «պատերազմական փող» նուագարանները
