In certain cases the author refers to their usage in contemporary Eastern Armenian, and basing his comments on various Western and Eastern Armenian dictionaries, underlines the nuances in their meanings and makes suggestions about the way these words should be used. This is the first part of a study on commonly used words which have similar or very close pronunciation but different spellings and meanings in contemporary Western Armenian. It covers the words which start with any letter of the Armenian alphabet between Ա(A) and Հ(H).
