Shaghat is one of the oldest settlements of the Syunik District, located in the southern region of the Republic of Armenia, close to Karabagh. Shaghat has a long and eventful history connected to the history of the Syunik District. The author reports on the new location of the village, its inhabitants and their origins, the work they do, their socio-economic weave and certain traditions and customs.
