In an earlier article H. Laurent had opposed the idea of connecting Bekht of the Armenian sources with Khatchatour of the Byzantine sources. On the basis of the historical evidence, the author tries to show that Bekht and Khatchatour are one and the same person. The article goes on to present the circumstances surrounding the murder of both Armenian governors of Antioch within the context of an anti-Armenian policy of the Byzantines.
