Making abundant use of the American, German, French, British and Ottoman official documents, as well as the reports and diaries of some Danish, German, Swiss and French missionaries, Red Cross workers and contemporary eye witnesses to the massacres, the author has tried to reconstitute the picture of the holocaust of Harput province, as well as its beginning and advance. To make things clearer and the bloody picture more conspicuous, a small section of the American Consul's report is translated into Armenian too. This section just follows the first section which intends to review Leslie Davis's annotated and published report by Suzan K. Blair.
