| dc.description.abstract | The first Armenian periodical was published in the year 1794, by Father Haroutune Shmavonian in Madras, India. From that date on, up to 1977, despite contradictory estimates by bibliographers, the author has found out that the history of the Armenian press numbers around 3800-4000 different titles of periodical publications. The article brings out of oblivion 120 new titles of Armenian periodicals and journals, which have not been mentioned by the bibliographers of the Armenian Press. | |
