| dc.description.abstract | Twelve unpublished letters are brought to the attention of the reader. The author of these letters, Hovhannes Kadjaznouni, the first Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia (1918–1920), addressed them to his family members. The letters, covering a period of some 45 years, touch upon personal, family, national and state issues and reflect the personal thoughts and feelings of Kadjaznouni regarding the loss of his son on the battlefield and the impact it had on the family, the uprooting, deportation and massacres of the Armenians, and the ensuing refugee crisis due to battles, the loss of Armenian land, the governmental crisis of the Armenian Republic, etc. | |
