Abstract
The article explores Derenik Demirchyan’s “The Book of Flowers” as an ekphrastic text. Ekphrasis as a verbal illustration of spatial art is explored in this short story within the context of the medieval Armenian miniature. The transformation of miniatures, non-verbal artistic structures, through the figurative description of metaphoric language, becomes the main compositional and structural axis of this story’s literary narrative.
