| dc.description.abstract | The paper is a critical inquiry into the evolution of Lebanese painting in general and Lebanese-Armenian painting in particular. The Lebanese-Armenian painting flourished by the mid-fifties and forms an integral part of Lebanese painting. In the study the emphasis is laid on matters related to the ideological content and implication of the works rather than the narrow technical and formal aspects of each. The works of the following Lebanese-Armenian artists have been considered: Paul Guiragossian, Guv, Guvder, Assdour, Hrair, Jean Kazanjian, Haroutune Torossian, Krikor Norigian and Seta Manougian. | |
