| dc.description.abstract | The work of every writer reflects not only reality but also the way the author feels and expresses himself. Character choice is very important in this regard. Matevosyan's characters are not simply one of the mob or multitude. Each character is an individual with a personality, and has a concrete human destiny. For Matevosyan the starting point in selecting his characters, is the ordinary untarnished man, who opposes oppression and violence. Matevosyan selects the innocent human being in his environment and does not reshape his characters. Matevosyan's character can be depicted as a continuous chain of Life-Man-Literature-Character. The supreme value of Matevosyan's literary art is his power to draw the reader into the human destiny of his character and to connect the reader to that destiny. | |
