| dc.description.abstract | Three unpublished letters of the renowned Armenian literary critique, novelist Hagop Oshagan (1883-1948) which are dated at 1946-47are being published here. These letters are addressed to the closest friend of Oshagan, Hagop Chakerian.Though Chakerian and Oshagan had corresponded frequently only a few of their letters have been published so far. The three letters published here are of special value due to the fact that they correspond to the last stage of Oshagan's life. The letters disclose the plans and projects of Oshagan regarding his books, Hamabadger Arevmedahay Kraganutyan (Panorama of Western Armenian literature), Mnatsortats (The Remnants), his life novel, and small research articles on contemporary Armenian writers. Furthermore, the letters shed light on Oshagan's health issues, his thoughts regarding the Jubilee celebrations in acknowledgment of his literary critical penship as well as his views regarding Soviet Armenia and the apathy he faced from a number of partisans. | |
