| dc.description.abstract | Traditional costume is divided into two main categories: female and male. In this regard, late 19th - and early 20*_ century belts, which constitute a basic element of the traditional costume, have been highlighted in the broader context of the costume. Basing his study on the collection of the Sardarapat Ethnographic Museum, the author focuses on the late 19th- and early 20*h- century belts of the Sunik-Artsakh region. The paper assesses these belts from both the artistic and ethnographic perspectives. The author argues that these reflect the artistic taste and socio-religious perception prevailing in the region. | |
