| dc.description.abstract | The paper uncovers the names of and gives certain information about 35 new Armenian provincial periodicals published between 1851 and 1922 in the various towns of Western Armenia, Cilicia and Asia Minor, towns like Adapazar, Aintab, Bardizag, Cesarea, Diarbekir, Fenese, Garin, Mezire, Ourfa, Sepasdia, Shabin Karahisar, Tamzara, Van, etc.. These periodicals are not mentioned in Armenian bibliographical lists. Adding these new-found names to the previous two articles on the same subject by the same author in the Haigazian Armenological Review Volume 9 (1981) and volume 21 (2001) brings the total number of periodicals uncovered by this author to 101. However, unlike in the first two articles the names mentioned in this paper are of provincial periodicals, which is further evidence of the budding cultural richness in Armenian provincial towns. | |
