Abstract
In the last decades, Armenian numismatics is passing through a new period of revival, both in Armenia and abroad. In this field, the question of the Arab coins, struck in «Armenias» district of the Arab Empire, or put into circulation there during the Ommayad and Abbasid rule, has not been overlooked. With this respect the studies of Kh. Mousheghian, printed lately in «Lraber» (Yerevan, 1973, No. 12), and «Patma-Banasirakan Handess» (Yerevan, 1973, No. 4), may be regarded as a considerable contribution.
(In his article, B. Sabbaghian, after appreciating Mousheghian's studies, tries, in his turn, to tackle some problems of Armeno-Arab numismatics. The two main problems are:
1. The question of the mints of Arab coins in Armenia.
2. The reading of inscriptions of some Arab coins.
At the end of the article, the author presents an additional list of Arab coins struck in the «Armenia» district of the Arab Empire.)
