| dc.description.abstract | One of the four treatises of Davit, the “Commentary on the Isagoge of Porphyry” is devoted to the complex problem of the universals. Through his non-eclectic and original approach to the issue, Davit has in fact worked to bridge the gap between extreme Platonic idealism and moderate Aristotelian realism (and the Peripatetic schools). His views on the genus and the differentia, also the relationship between the categories and the actual world, have directly contributed to the development of Nominalism in Armenia. | |
