dc.description.abstract | This study examines the relationship of teachers' performance to student performance in mathematics of 6th, 7th, 8th, and 9th grade students in Beirut. A general model of teachers' performance suggests that the effects of teachers on students' achievement can be explained by three general classes of variables: teachers' ability, motivation, and work situation. This study shows and discusses how the combined effects of these classes of variables can explain students' performance in math. The analyses revealed that teachers' performance could have a direct but week [sic.] effect on student performance in mathematics. | |
