| dc.description.abstract | Five letters of the renowned Armenian poet, Avetik Issahakian (1875-1957) written between 7 September and 26 November 1936 are published here. After long discussions with the Soviet Armenian authorities, Issahakian ended his self-imposed exile to Europe and returned home for good in late 1936. On his way back home, Issahakian sent these letters from Venice and Costanca to the Armenologist Haik Perperian, shedding light on the final stages of his return, the procedural details, his encounters in Greece, and the hassle of such a journey. | |
