| dc.description.abstract | For centuries migrant working has been an inseparable part of the Armenian nation. Alongside historiography and literature various expressions of popular folklore have reflected this issue in their own manner. For the first time ever the paper focuses on anecdotes that touch upon various facets of Armenian migrant workers’ lives and negative impact of migrant working on Armenian family life. The paper notes that unlike other sorts of folkloric materials, which highlight various aspects of migrant working and negative implications, Armenian anecdotes raise the issue undeterred, with no limitations and in a sarcastic manner. Furthermore, they maintain the national spirit, vitality and liveliness, yet at the same time enhance awareness of its implications. | |
