Abstract
The Hraztan City Dramatic Theater group has passed through difficult times. In the 1950s the Theater had an image of conventional productions and acting. Nonetheless, in the last two decades the Theater has offered to the public a very unique image. It has mixed various bits and pieces of the pictorial aspects of the cinema, theater and painting and has created a new style. This has made the Hraztan City Dramatic Theater group stand out among the theater groups of the Republic of Armenia by presenting unique plays that differ in their mode of production.
The author assesses and highlights some examples of the plays offered to the public by the Theater. Among them Grigorian emphasized the plays entitled "Minas" and "Mirhav".
The first highlights the complicated life of Minas Avedissain, one of the renowned painters of Soviet Armenia, his paintings, his creative track and his tragic destruction. The other is based on one of the stories of Axel Pagunts, himself a victim of the Stalinist purges.
Grigorian argues that the theatrical production Mirhav is equal to the creations of its literary original.
