Abstract
The study of the charactersitics of antitrinity schismatic doctrines in Christian historiography bears importance because these concepts are reiterated in one way or the other in current sects. As such the study bears a practical function too.
In this regard the anti-Arios doctrine of the Armenian Church is special. The Armenian Church stance has been argued for by several Armenian varatbeds and has been proven through a multilayered approach, where both objective and subjective approaches of the sects have been taken into consideration.
The actual Armenian documents show that the unchanged bases of the Armenian Church's anti-Arios doctrine have been the Nicean Creed, as well as the universal paternalistic literature and the doctrine of Grigor Loosavoritch. The analysis of the theological, confessional and paternalistic literature of the early Armenian catholicoi and vartabeds proves that the Armenian Church refuted the Arios doctrine with no reservation at all. In fact, the Armenian Church has systematically analysed and rejected the theology of Arios not only from the trinity approach but in the context of Christology and redeeming literature.
