Շարի տեղահանութիւնը [28 Մայիս-17 Յունիս 1915]

Abstract
This is a seven-page report about the deportation of the residents of Shar, a village of some 2000 inhabitants. An off-shoot of Hadjin, Shar was founded in the 1860s next to some Roman ruins, about 8 hours’ walk from Hadjin. The deportation lasts two weeks, as they are uprooted on June 3 and arrive in Aleppo on June 17. The report, written by Father Vertanes Karadaghian, details the uprooting of the inhabitants and their settlement in Aleppo. It maps in detail the route the deportees are forced to take and the dates they arrive at each location. The dates and details of the report are fresh as Fr. Karadaghian writes his story down two days after their arrival in Aleppo on June 19, 1915.
