Love of life is a new construct in the well-being domain. Building on previous research on personality and subjective well-being, the study investigated the relationship between extraversion, neuroticism, and love of life. The sample consisted of 180 high school students, aged 15 to 20. Personality traits were assessed using the Eysenck Personality Questionnaire (EPQ) forms A (extraversion) and B (neuroticism) Arabic versions. Results confirmed the hypotheses. There was a significant positive correlation between extraversion and love of life, and a significant negative correlation between neuroticism and love of life. Also, regressional analysis yielded only one factor, labeled "positive attitude towards life", to be a significant predictor of extraversion. These findings suggest that, through a general positive lookout on life, extraverted individuals tend to be more loving of their lives than their neurotic counterparts.
